Pros

Flexibility to pick shifts when available, benefits when maintaining 20 hours per week. This allows that if you are short they average by the quarter, the 20% associate discounts and other deals.

Cons

Low pay, sometimes not always able to get shifts, however, once you get to know the various managers if needed you can come in an pick up hours.

Pros

They worked with my schedule for the most part and there are incentives..small ones but incentives. You meet some nice people if you're lucky

Cons

Not enough staff so EVERYONE seemed overworked. It's impossible to get things done sometimes. They are always cutting hours but expecting the same amount of work done. with less people, less time and very little pay. They also pull the bait and switch. I went for one interview, they hired me for different title which wasnt that big a deal at the time then when I start I'm all of a sudden seasonal when that was never discussed in the interview or follow up after. Just when I was starting.

Pros

I cannot name one good reason for anyone to work here unless you are desperate for a job and this is the only alternative.

Cons

The pay is very low. Management forces you to sign people up for Macy's credit card accounts - it is the NUMBER ONE objective that management rewards you for. They reward you with "Macy's Money" that can only be used inside a Macy's store and forces you to pay for half of your Macy's money purchase with another form of tender, preferably your Macy's credit card account. They tell you that you can combine your Macy's money with other Macy's coupons and sale items, but when you do, SOMETIMES there is a glitch in the system that gives the purchaser an additional discount. Even though ALL managers know this, they tell you it is ok unil one day when their aggressive Loss Prevention drones force you into a windowless office and interrogate you for hours about the software glitch, only to then suspend you without pay for the "pattern of transactions" that THEY let happen. Instead of notifying employees that they did something wrong, they allow and continue to instruct the behavior and then bully you into making you think you committed internal theft. They abuse employees with low pay and instead of warning them when they do something wrong, they bully, persecute and suspend. They have a "scorecard system" with numbers that no manager can ever explain in detail. They mislead customers with sales flyers/bogus coupons and unavailable items. Their Loss Prevention team thinks they are terrorizing prisoners at GITMO - they bully and intimidate good, hard working sales employees.
