Pros

The material was fun and engaging

Cons

The students were loud and rowdy. You have to constantly be smiling. It's more like edutainment rather than education. Students would randomly rate teacher and the teacher's score would drop.

Pros

You can work as much as you want if you're willing to use their teaching methods, which means pretty much acting like a clown! Seriously, go on YouTube and take a look at teachers teaching classes.

Cons

If you have ANY problems with your pay, it could be months before you ever see a paycheck! I've literally taught over 100 classes, I've leveled up, and it's been MONTHS since I've seen a paycheck! What's worse is that Magic Ears makes absolutely NO effort to pay you! They drag their feet, make excuse after excuse, they blame you, they fail to communicate, and they honestly just do not care about their teachers! I have a family, I need this income, and they make absolutely no effort to make things right. It very clearly is not my fault. There is also no phone number to communicate with them regarding problems such as this. I'm angry and I'm currently taking attorneys. I'm taking to attorneys in both the US and in China. I've worked at fortune 500 companies most of my adult life, I've worked in management, and human resources, and the number one rule of any successful business is that you do not mess with people's paychecks! You pay them on time, every time, and if there's a problem, you fix it ASAP! Most teachers leave sooner than they would with any other online teaching opportunity because of the problems listed here. Magic Ears doesn't retain their best teachers because they don't address issues and take care of them. I would never recommend Magic Ears to any good teacher! There are far too many great companies you can work for. Companies that will do everything in their power to retain great employees. I suggest North American companies over Chinese companies because you're far less likely to encounter any problems, especially problems with pay!
