Refreshing, and still growing up!

Pros

Amazing, passionate and brilliant people everywhere. Opportunity to make an impact on the entire company. Unique culture mashes technical minds with creative minds.

Cons

Moves fast and slow depending on the area of the biz. Conservative on budgeting despite the vast investment line up. So, resources feel tight, constrained. I guess that's good when pre-product.

No longer a startup - or a company that wants to make a profit

Pros

Pay and Benefits are good.

Cons

- Long hours and no work life balance (for groups who actually work instead of playing cards and waiting in line for orange juice and free food) - Lack of understanding by management of how to release product to consumer market, continual changes, and lack of focus and system level thinking - Poor corporate culture. Focus has turned from driven startup to one where people think they have guaranteed employment for life, CEO who references Star Wars more than he does business objectives, and lack of prioritization and understanding of what Magic Leap wants to achieve with this product - Excessive funding from investors has made the management think it is never going to dry up and they have lost focus on why the investors gave them money in the first place

Pros

- Good Life/ Work balance. - Great people to work with. - Unlimited PTO.

Cons

- Based in Florida, could be a HUGE career risk! - No credible vision to make this a serious player within the industry. - Terrible process standards within the organization. - Company is full of "big names" with their own personal agendas. Most of whom literally do ZERO work and are "retained" by the company to prevent liability. - Constant overlapping efforts towards basic system level features. - Terrible cross-team trust and communication. - Big wage gaps based on gender and race.
