Pros
Autonomy, patients and their families are usually wonderful, helpful coworkers, normally work Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Cons
Low pay, can be high-stress, the job is difficult to "leave at the door." It's common to work 1 to 2 hours longer than scheduled shift. Some patients and their families can be difficult. Poor communication/ lack of consistency from management. On-call every 3-5 weeks and usually scheduled to see 4-6 patients on both Sat. and Sun, in addition to being on-call for 48 hours straight, then being expected to work normal shift on Monday.
