As an employee with almost 15 years in (yes, I've been there that long because I have a family to take care of and bills to pay; and MG has the monopoly in healthcare in just about all of the Kennebec Valley Region), I've found that the employees who claim they are completely happy with the company --- who state MG has no cons whatsoever, touts the company as the best company to work for in the region 100% --- are usually in some kind of managerial or supervisory position. It's interesting to note that this person did not reveal their position in the company. And why not --- with a kool-aid high filled ray of sunshine of a review like that? (My position is not revealed because I'm not a manager or supervisor. In my department, I've seen numerous managers, providers (MD's, PA's, NP's), as well as other clinical and clerical staff come and go (most have left the company). MG seems to have a very difficult time recruiting and retaining staff. A definite red flag for prospective employees.
Also, the culture is one of working under worry and fear (of doing something wrong, or that no matter how good you are or how hard you work, management is just waiting for you to screw up). Not a healthy environment and creates a lot of stress and anxiety in staff. It seems at least 3/4 of staff working for MG are medicated for anxiety and stress related to their work.
