      Pros

      To help patients and families find a pain free, peaceful and safe environment at the end of a family member/friend’s life.

      Cons

      It seemed like BIG BROTHER was always watching...not only constantly monitoring all laptop documentation but also following the nurses in the patient’s home. There was no autonomy, as EVERY action or recommendation had to be approved by the Hospice Manager regardless how benign it was. This kind of working environment is detrimental to everyone on the receiving end, ie, both the patient and the nurse. Not a pleasant company to work for.

      Pros

      transparent organization; pay and benefits in line with other related industry employers in the area; the culture of "Excellence at Work" is more than just a buzz-word here.

      Cons

      Overall I think they do great with what they have, which is having a lot of regulatory oversight and more uninsured and under-insured which makes finances precarious. But they do really well with how much they can control these factors.

      working in a face paced enviorment, love interacting with patients, hours were good

      Cons

      working under staffed all the time created a difficult enviorment to work. The turn over rate was very high.
