      Pros

      The floor staff, consisting of nurses and psych techs, were all incredibly dedicated to their work and truly cared about making patients' lives better, They always had my and each others' back and cared deeply about each other. I worked on the adolescent floor, and the patients that came into the hospital were fascinating and gave me excellent experience in a wide range of diagnoses.

      Cons

      Ultimately there was little to no support from management, to the point where floor staff were consistently getting injured by violent patients and nothing was being done. Every issue on the unit was blamed on floor staff and management would often walk onto the unit and undermine decisions made by floor staff and charge nurses in front of patients.

      Pros

      Salary ok but below market and only updated maybe every five years to try and remain competitive, usual benefits but nothing special

      Cons

      On-call is draining and no significant actions are taken to prevent fires from happening so you're constantly fighting fires, processes aren't automated so there are a lot of manual tasks that are unnecessary, don't expect to be able to grow your skills or be given the opportunity to innovate, it's a job but career advancement and perks like increased vacation occur at a snail's pace
