R&D investment has been greatly increased recently President has high expectations and many previous business successes President relies on team to understand areas in which he has less experience Business understands that a diversity of inputs leads to the best outputs Engineering continues to retain many tenured engineers and hire some great new talent

Cons

Takes time for R&D investments to yield new products through a medical device development process Can be a challenging environment for people not comfortable questioning the status quo
