Pros

The work (consulting to a wide variety of clients across the country) was interesting. The products are good. Many of the people are good people. The clients were good people.

Cons

The travel was oppressive. The management was even more oppressive. If you are not within the "in" crowd, you can forget about moving up. Leadership talks the talk, but does not walk the walk. They talk about treating their employees and customers well. They do not. They are getting a bad reputation in the marketplace because of it. The company does not appreciate the wealth of knowledge in their seasoned consultants. They dump them and replace them with raw college-hires. As a result, clients are short-changed.

Pros

1. Supply chain is a great domain to be in. Manhattan Associates is a financially stable company, so you can be confident about keeping your job if you are meeting performance standards, and if you are not being paid too much. 2. The cost of living in Atlanta is lower compared to other software hubs like Seattle, Boston and Silicon Valley.

Cons

1. Uninspiring leadership in software engineering. Most managers director-level and above are smart but lack leadership skills. Some resort to unnecessary pressure tactics to get work done. As a result, employees lack enthusiasm and do not take pride in their work, leading to quality issues and frustration for all concerned. 2. Benefits and compensation are only average.
