Manpower was not forthcoming with information that would have helped me in deciding what would be the best move for me personally. I was told that I would be under contract with them for a period of time, and that the other company would then decide whether or not to hire me directly. During my contract time, Manpower would get a percentage of the pay that the other company gave for me and my position. I thought the amount they made off of me was a little unreasonable, but went along with it because I got along great with my co-workers and supervisor at the other company, and I thought the job looked pretty secure.
However, near the end of my contract, I got a call from Manpower saying that the contract had been terminated, and that I was not to contact the company I had been working at. I had left work on great terms earlier that day, with no indication of anything like this. No reason was given, and the Manpower employee made me feel like I must have done something terrible, but woudn't tell me anything. I was shocked. I had left another job behind, one that I had worked at for years, but that didn't pay as well and didn't offer a chance for advancement, to take this job. I had also moved to a different city to be closer to this job. The way Manpower presented itself, I thought this was a good move, and offered much more of a chance to advance in my field. I still have not been given any explanation for what happened.
I feel that Manpower used me to make money, with no regard for me as a person.
