Pros

Most of their stores are new and well maintained. Its a gas station convenience store. They hire many cashiers, some overnight.

Cons

Too many to list. No pay raises. After eight years one employee had only a few pay raises. Whenever the state increased their minimum wage she did not get a raise which meant new employees were earning all most as much as she received. Her salary should have been increased accordingly when minimum wage increased. She finally quit. So, no pay raises, small opportunities for advancement. Only a very few staff are fulltime with benefits. Management is bad. Managers play favorites, hire friends. They breathe down your neck and will write up employees for no good reason. Employees promoted to management positions have no training on managing people. They often don't have the skills or personality to be supervising people. Because its such a bad place to work you will often be left alone on a very busy eight hour shift....nonstop busy. This is because so many employees don't show up to work , often without notice. Because its a bad place to work employee turnover is high. I can't remember all the staff who came and went in the two years I worked, there were several. That is true of all the stores. High turnover. Employees seldom complain, they simply walk away. The store I worked in constantly violated NY state meal laws. But, if you're often left alone, how can you take a meal break? If two persons were on a shift the meal break was never enforced. We were told we could take one if we wanted, however, NY labor law requires enforcement whether the employee wants a break or not. Because its a bad place to work good employees don't stay long, so you'll be working with employees who don't do their work, don't show up, are unpleasant, or weird. If its busy and you're alone you will have a hard time even using the restroom. The health insurance is poor.... if you're lucky enough to get promoted to fulltime with benefits. Accept employment only if you really need a job, but keep looking.
