Pros
You learn some very high-level systems, and can esentially learn them on the fly if you have access. Marco will provide labs/cert studies if you prove yourself through the process (eg. You can't ask for Azure/AWS exam reimbursements on Day #1), and support your learning path if you maintain yourself as a valuable employee. There are so many departments here that you can move practically anywhere after 1yr. Just make that first year count, and your career will take off if you allow it.
Cons
The metric-tracking is cumbersome. If you want us to close more tickets stop asking for nedy admin work, like keeping track of every minute and maintaining a particular percentage of a particular work-type in order to avoid being on the radar. If we weren't so worried about these admin tasks we would close so many more tickets. Also, working only M-F and relying on Holidays and PTO work weekday things is ridiculous. A single, regular adult has to take 4-6 days per year in appointments/health issues alone, let alone after 1 week of vaction and a couple unexpected emergencies later you're stressed about not being able to tend to your personal life.
