Pros

The company is positioned well in a highly competitive market. In an era where everyone is trying to push their stack, Marin is well positioned as an open stack that offers advertisers the flexibility to choose an advertising channel and attribution vendor while reporting in a single interface. The new executive team is decisive. They realized the company was burning through cash on operations and the last several quarters have seen margin rise with profitability in sight. Compensation is very competitive. The stock has gone down despite revenue growth and margin growth. The executive team has pivoted to RSU grants to ensure everyone has skin in the game. Seeing positive collaboration with the publishers for the first time.

Cons

Too many people aren't looking at the big picture. We're in a competitive space and we need to be scrappy. The street has no understanding on what the company does, this is reflective of a market cap which is only ~1.5 times earnings despite 21% y/y revenue growth.

Pros

Good coworkers, nice location, decent pay & benefits, reasonable work life balance

Cons

Management lacks focus, every quarter there's a completely new (and unrealistic) strategy for trying to hit profitability. While founders have all been pushed out, there's a clear detrimental imprint that's been left on the company. The level of micromanagement was so high under them that now there's a pervasive feeling of helplessness, inaction and heavy handed bureaucracy. This has resulted in extremely high attrition rates across all orgs. The poor stock valuation makes for a very weak equity play for both current and prospective employees.

It seems you rank our total compensation to be very competitive in addition to providing work-life balance. Today we are offering RSU’s for most positions and constantly reviewing low performers while giving them a chance to improve prior letting people go which is the right thing to do. We just signed an agreement with a vendor to provide management training to be launched soon. More to come in terms of changes with how we develop our employees. More good news is our San Francisco office is undergoing a massive remodel. Looking forward to seeing our new look.
