Pros
-great if you're a higher up who likes to golf with other higher ups, and badmouth all their subordinates. Get expensive catering every week too, gotta put those "record profits" to good use somehow. -great if you're a higher up who wants to get their old buddy hired on too- they won't even interview them. -want to SA a female subordinate? You can, HR will ignore and threaten them for speaking up. This isn't just one case either. -great if you did jail time, because they won't fire you even if they caught you physically threatening other employees. In AZ, they get a tax break for hiring felons, so firing one would lose them money. -for pawns: if management likes you, you could sit around and barely do any work, they'll cover for you. Suck up to them if you want to somewhat survive here, just make sure to never have any problems with anything. Stay out of their way if they're having a bad day.
Cons
-management barely do their job. Need something ordered for work? Keep asking, maybe you'll get it by the end of next year. I'm not talking about leads. Supervisors, SR managers and higher. -had a good solution to something? Well, that's no longer your idea if the boss doesn't like you. Same with if you found a good solution to something, even if it costs nothing, if you need any support to see it in action, you're asking for too much, it won't happen. -HR lady will be extra petty with you if you don't keep your head down and accept abuse. I'm talking doing borderline illegal things to workers. She knows it too, looks very amused when she manages to get a rise out of someone. Have the department of labor on speed dial. -the HR higher up who ridiculed me in front of the whole town hall for suggesting maybe we can have gift cards as rewards? Got promoted. The funny part is, they've put my idea to use after all. But just had to keep us peasants in place I guess. It's always "we take feedback" unless it's negative. -you know it's bad when there's a mass exodus every year, and the "we're hiring" sign outside never comes down. -no career opportunities really. Barely any training or help with your growth. -expect sexual harassment if you're female. No matter how much responsibility you take on, or how hard you work, this is basically a frat house for men with fragile egos, and you're just an "overly sensitive woman" if you say anything. The only time anyone gets fired for SA is when they lose favor with their little frat house. And with all that, they love talking about their "culture" and "values" every town hall. It always ends in a roast battle between the higher ups and the employees being done with the facade. The tooth fairy is more believable than their empty words. I was ready to take a giant pay cut leaving just to leave, but thankfully that wasn't necessary.
