      -Location of the Austin office (Arboretum shopping area), ample parking

      Cons

      -Nowhere to move up unless you want to be an underwriter -Dreary environment....fluorescent lights & drab decor, cubicle walls -Undervalued and micro-managed support staff -No emphasis on enjoyable work culture -Markel sets unrealistic 10% / year financial growth goal, makes everyone work tirelessly to bring in more $ without showing them appreciation -Petty rules regarding time sheets, taking PTO, and location of desks -Markel always putting pressure to "cut budget," even when it comes to kitchen snacks
