Pros

you get to be a manager straight out of college. you get decent money straight out of school. They pay for your travel. You get a good discount at hotels.

Cons

-work life balance is terrible -you get the worst shifts because you are on the bottom -After covid hotels have been understaffing to make more money so you will feel unsupported and burned out at times. -you might only be a manager in tittle and not in practice -Your training depends on who your leader is and many don't even know what the voyager program is so its not exactly the immersive learning experience they sell you.

Pros

The managers were extremely welcoming, and made you feel like part of the team. You are allowed to run the desk without being micromanaged. The hours are consistent.

Cons

The training is awful (expect to learn EVERYTHING from hours of computer training). The software they use for reservations only uses keystrokes and is rumored to be from the 70s. It is a black screen with green characters (nothing more updated than that), and getting things to go from online to in the system is just impossible. Often the reservation system would overbook itself? Why does this even happen? Now I am having to confront customers walking in to check in and tell them their room is non existent because of our reservation system? Horrible...

Pros

Remote Hotel discount Decent pay compared to other companies for similar role Lots of optional overtime available Comprehensive training and nice managers

Cons

It's a call center style job. The phone calls are practically nonstop and a solid percentage of them are very angry, very mean customers ready to unleash all their frustrations on you. Most people book hotels online, so if they're calling, it's most likely because of a problem. I've worked tons of customer service roles, but something about being over the phone makes customers feel like they can be especially nasty. Also, tons of technical problems with the equipment.
