      Pros

      Lots of opportunity to gain in depth technical knowledge and experience. While communication is very poor, there are really no secrets and you can find out anything if you know what and who to ask

      Cons

      No visibility into future opportunities. Philosophy is that employees will develop technically as individual contributors without an increase in scope. Expectation is that you will contribute technically and move on when you are ready..

      Employees are the key, not the management

      Pros

      Competitive work place and interesting technologies to work on. Good cafeteria. Management in my group is accomodating of personal needs and time-off.

      Cons

      Very short sighted execution. Always in a fire-fighting mode with absolutely no foresight. Senior managements do not treat the employees with respect. CEO is extremely difficult person to work with with lot of ego. The "yesman" culture propogated through the ranks have absolutely destroyed critical and independent thinking amongst employees. This is a company which strives to be next big thing but poised for a crash and burn.

      Pros

      Senior engineers who are completely ignorant about management are promoted to become managers. That leaves a lot of room for employees to improvise.

      Cons

      Anti-social behavior is strongly encouraged so that employees can focus on work instead of any other aspect of human life. Managers expect employees to work long late hours because "they don't have family/girlfriends waiting at home."
