      Pros

      Not many pros besides co-workers that made it enjoyable to come into work.

      Cons

      Work schedule changed every 3 months. Management made many empty promises to employees about work schedules, end of year reviews and other important issues at hand. Used and abused some of the better employees that actually cared about their jobs.

      Pros

      Freedom when you work and how are you complete your job the level of quality,... it'll affect your metrics but nobody is going to be looking over your shoulder every two seconds your kind of your own boss don't mess up too much and it will probably stay that way Make a good bit of money pretty quick if you're lucky go to a house for a 4 box installation which is a minimum of $80 turns out Customer already had to DIRECTV they're switching account holders install the new boxes make sure wires are up to spec and you're done 20 minutes made $80. If every install was like this it would be the greatest job ever, sadly this is a very rare occurrence so don't get your hopes up.

      Cons

      The piece work atmosphere in this company is designed the most ideal technician in the most ideal work atmosphere if you're not very lucky you might go to a job and the Customer for some reason doesn't want to sign for the work you will not get paid and then would have work all those hours for nothing. I mean you could claim the hours but it will hurt your most important metric. I believe officially you are required to but nobody enforces that because they know how the system works. Some metrics that are important to you and what the company thinks of you as an employee are solely absolutely dependent on luck. Such as the metric for the percentage of Customer you install that have internet connected to the DirecTV equipment this metric is completely affected by number of customers have internet by number of customers that have internet what you cannot change so cross your fingers

      It is a different way of doing business that I am not used to

      Pros

      Like dealing with customers and their problems with the installation. Experienced technicians are great to work with. Networking with experienced techs is very important for rookies

      Cons

      Upper Management spends too much time and money purchasing things to keep up with the technicians in the field. As company metrics expands technicians are stressed even more. A lot of the points on the metrics has even less to do with the installation. (Directv)
