Pros

- MasterControl has a very family-friendly culture. The CEO (Jon) seems to pride himself on everyone feeling welcomed and comfortable at work. - Very talented workforce full of great people. Very few jerks. - Great perks! Especially, if your partner has health insurance already. - No VC funding and outside VC influence/pressure.

Cons

- Many departments are siloed and seem to work independently of other departments and company long-term goals. - Too many layers of middle management in most departments.

Thanks for the review! We agree that we have some great perks and that our employees are a brilliant, hardworking, and caring bunch. Your feedback around the departments feeling siloed is very helpful. We have several different ways that we encourage cross-departmental communication (quarterly company meetings, slack channels, monthly leadership meetings, etc.) but we can always do better! Pros

Good employee culture and work life balance - HR puts a lot of effort into really good events

Cons

Top-heavy management No transparency - they were talking about plans to bring everyone back to the office right up to the moment that they nuked a good portion of their workforce with surprise layoffs

So sorry to hear that you felt there hasn't been enough transparency from leadership recently. 2020 was a challenging year and we were impacted by COVID just like a lot of other companies in our industry. We, unfortunately, had to make the difficult decision of doing a company-wide restructuring - and we had countless conversations, and did a lot of research and financial modeling to handle it the very best we could. Great Coworkers, Mediocre Management

Pros

Great coworkers, pretty stable until drastic measures needed to be taken because of covid.

Cons

Not the best management, poor insight into employee performance that resulted in odd terminations when covid hit.
