-Very long hours full of unstimulating work -Benefits decreased dramatically as of Jan 1, 2018, to align with parent company Mastercard -Young managers often fail to prioritize the many client requests, leaving constant late nights for BC's full of low-value work - Most employees, including many senior execs who have been around 10+ years, have never worked at another company. Enough said. - Nearly all of the brightest and most well-rounded peers in my class have also left 1-2 years in -Job can feel like glorified tech support, especially when staffed on many "rollout" clients -Aside from learning SQL, I do not feel like I grew meaningfully. I spent much of my time teaching client analysts how to use APT's software, scheduling meetings, and compiling decks full of software screenshots.

-The Business Consultant (BC) role is super frustrating after the initial period where it's new and exciting; it's really more like software sales and support rather than actual consulting -There's little time spent actually getting to be a thought partner with your clients; rather, they come to you with a specific test in mind already that they want to run, and you spend 90% of your time helping them click through the software and literally just setting the test up -As a result, you're never actually doing anything truly analytical since it's all being done by the software and I can honestly say that I've gotten dumber since starting at APT -Additionally, while many of the other BCs are chill and fun to work and hang out with, there is still a very clear hierarchy in place despite all of their claims of having a flat culture -This is exacerbated by the review process which is glorified as this amazing thing to help employees become their best selves, but is really still highly political and doesn't seem to hold the senior folks in the office to the same standards as the BCs -For example, while the BCs are often working unpredictable hours and forced to stay late to finish menial tasks, I have personally witnessed EMs, Principals, and VPs slacking off constantly at work and emerging unscathed through the review process -For example, I had an EM who was watching Netflix and looking at her nails every time I stopped by her desk to ask a question, and she still had the nerve to criticize MY work ethic during reviews -Finally, little opportunity to interact with C-suite clients, as you're mostly just working with your clients' less experienced analysts
