Pros

Free breakfast on Wednesday Free cookies on Friday Free fruit every morning (if you get to work early enough) Free dinner every day of the week if you stay at work late

Cons

1. Promotions are based on years of experience, or how many years since you got your bachelor's degree. For technical positions, new hires with a master's degree and no work experience generally enter as "Level 2". After 4-6 years of decent work, you are promoted to "Level 3" (Senior). After that promotion, you'll have to wait 10-15 years for your next promotion to "Level 4" (Principal). For many people, they get one promotion to "Level 3" (Senior) and that's it! 2. No work-life balance if you work on products in the CDA area. This covers all the products that require Simulink. Work with product teams in the LTC area (MATLAB and toolbox products) if you want work-life balance. 3. No work from home at all. (But some managers don't care when you work from home, so enforcement is uneven.) 4. Each year, your performance rating is decided well before you start writing the self-review. So nothing that you write in the self-review has any effect on your rating. What you write is to justify the rating that was given to you.

Pros

I've only been there a few months but this company is a wonderful breath of fresh air coming from the world of public tech companies. The interview process is VERY professional and transparent. They really choose talent carefully. New hire on boarding and training is wonderful. You spend a lot of time in classes but unlike other firms its all relevant. They actually follow the policies they train on! The people are great, very friendly and welcoming. The working environment is fabulous - great buildings, convenient location, very collaborative environment. Benefits like healthcare and retirement are some of the best I've ever seen. And they provide perks NO other company does like the summer outing. The "no WFH" policy some complain about is no where near as draconian as its made out to be in reviews. They just dont want people using recurring scheduled WFH. If you have childcare emergencies or its snowing they are totally flexible. Workload seems reasonable and people dont get pushed to deliver insane hours like other tech giants.

Cons

Starting pay is on the low side for the industry - but this is balanced out by the very convenient location, work life balance and great benefits. Cant comment on career progression yet.

Pros

Great benefits, good pay, excellent bonuses, interesting work in software development, excellent work-life balance

Cons

There are a number of people in power who can create a negative working environment if they happen to be your boss. If you look for problems with anyone's performance, you can always find something!
