Good Company With Growing Pains and Inconsistencies

Pros

Privately held by an inspirational CEO who is out to change the world, not just make a buck. Benefits are generous, especially the stakeholder quarterly bonus plan, which rewards employees based on business fundamentals, not the whims of the stock market. The company is managed for the long term and financially sound.

Cons

With growth corporate processes are becoming increasingly bureaucratic and rigid. It is getting harder to get work done, solve customer problems, and sell product. Internal support policies often prioritize cost savings to the detriment of employee productivity. CEO is inspirational but not all senior management is: double standards in some corners regarding core values ("rational workplace") and quality initiatives.

Pros

It's a great place to work if you're an engineer, developer or mathematician. You will be treated with respect and rewarded.

Cons

It's a terrible place to work if you 're a marketer. The engineers already know all there is to know about marketing.

Pros

Private offices: collaborate with a co-worker on the whiteboard/computer without interruptions. People are nice, and there are no dirty politics. There's an kitchen operating for lunch everyday, so you never run out of options; food is not free, but cheap. There's a good gym; again, cheap. Work depends on the responsibilities you choose to take.

Cons

The software is pretty ad-hoc, and people add their broken knowledge to the mess. Certain processes are inefficient, and cannot be changed. Salary doesn't go up very much, and people depend on their bonuses. There's quite a bit of hierarchy and upper management does not know the ground realities.
