Pros

Core platforms (MATLAB and Simulink) are world class Very intelligent co-workers.

Cons

Highly political culture Internal processes were developed to support slow moving industries like Aerospace/Defense and Automotive. The company isn't nimble enough to deal with rapid change. The company is inbred. The mid to senior level managers have been with the company forever and don't have the skills or perspective necessary to manage a billion dollar software concern. The company isn't good at assimilating outside talent.

Pros

- successfully building a new business and market over the long term - big opportunities to contribute in your own area and across other areas as well - management pays attention to data and logic

Cons

- you need patience, persuasiveness and self-confidence to make new things happen - you'll learn your own limitations: if you understand them you'll thrive, but if you ignore or deny them you'll suffer
