      Great summer job or school job

      Pros

      The pay is around $10 for someone with no college degree, so it pays a lot better than most jobs you could have while going to school. it's fairy easy to advance. I've been offered an internship to become a center director at the flagship Mathnasium, under Larry Martinek. Which can easily translate into a lifelong career. And I'm only 18 years old, so there's no age bias. Really great place, you really feel like you're helping people.

      Cons

      Limited hours. Most shifts only last 4-5 hours, so working a full work week would mean only getting 20-25 hours a week. If you can even get that. The max amount of hours I can get during the summer per week is around 13.

      Pros

      It is rewarding to work with the kids and seeing them improve. The hours are flexible. Not much stress or pressure.

      Cons

      I imagine my review is based mostly on my franchise owner. She is very easy going so I bet if you don't have a similar owner you might have a different experience. There really is any room to "move up."

      Pros

      Some of the kids are fun to work with! It is very rewarding when you see a child understand a certain concept.

      Cons

      Sometimes you are overworked because the kids can come in whenever you are open, so you might have an hour where there are hardly any kids and then an hour where its 5 kids to 1 instructor. Sometimes you work with kids that are hard to work with.
