      Great place to work part time

      Pros

      Friendly work environment and overall great feeling working with kids and teaching them math in new ways. Also, working here helped me to be a better teacher, I feel.

      Cons

      Somewhat low pay and, since you're working with students, there are only afternoon/evening and weekend hours available which may not be that great for work/life balance.

      Pros

      The pros for working at Mathnasium are many and excellent but hard too remember.

      Cons

      I looked at jobs at the teaching center Mathnasium (two different locations). The salary is $12 per hour with a possible promotion to $14 per hour. Moreover, the salary during the first month of "training" is only $10 per hour. Bagging groceries at Trader Joe is lucrative by comparison!

      Pros

      Competitive compensation for relatively simply work. Good management support. Flexible schedule if you're also taking classes. You will become an absolute wizard at math in a matter of months (even if you already think you're pretty good at it!).

      Cons

      Some students are NOT fun to work with. Compensation is capped at the franchisee's generosity (usually $12-$15 p/h for instructors). If you are looking for full-time hours this is not the company to work for at entry-level.
