      Pros

      I can't speak for every location, but the particular one where I work has a wonderful, collaborative team of top-notch instructors who care sincerely about each child's success. I have been able to build meaningful relationships with my coworkers and students in a fun, positive atmosphere.

      Cons

      My particular location's "loose" scheduling of student visits makes for some pretty large waves throughout the day. It seems as though we are always either completely swamped with kids or totally empty.

      Pros

      The atmosphere is great, The work is rewarding, The shifts are not extremely long, You learn teaching and communication skills, It's fun to assess a student's skills and see what's right for them

      Cons

      The compensation is okay, Private tutors make much more, Kids can be very difficult to motivate, Sometimes it seems like you are doing a lot of work while other instructors aren't
