The medical insurance is awful. I have run into some health issues other the past couple of years and am finding that UMR covers virtually none of the expenses, and if they do it is very little. I have had to pay thousands of dollars out of my own pocket. I am now going to have to search for my own health insurance because UMR that Matrix provides is not covering any of my x-rays, echocardiogram, or the medication that I need.
I bring this up because the health insurance is something that is brought up to management at every single town hall. Employees are not happy with it, and whenever it is brought up to management to respectfully reconsider looking into other options we are always met with responses such as "our competitors offer similar plans..." and xyz on why they are keeping UMR. I really think they need to reconsider this approach because this health insurance is not good, and the employees are trying time and time again to tell management that and they refuse to hear their feedback. I would rather pay more a month so I don't get a $800 medical bill. It feels as though Matrix is going with the cheapest health insurance plan for them and making their employees suffer with the consequences.
