It's a trap!

Relatively good pay considering no education level necessary, opportunities for overtime Benefits are ok

Cons

Poor working conditions (extreme heat, always out of materials, safety is a secondary concern at best) Management does virtually nothing to address issues (zero discipline, zero planning, zero accountability) Shift work You can go from working 60 hour weeks of "mandatory" overtime to getting cut back to 32 hours whenever management's poor scheduling results in the company needing to save a buck. Often closed without pay for two weeks over the holidays. Machines are often held together with rigged repairs because management does not authorize funds to maintain appropriate spares or maintenance dept. staffing. This negatively effects production and therefore bonuses/overtime.

Pros

Good starting pay, plenty of OT for hourly employees, flexibility on schedules, and.... I cannot think of anything else that is positive.

Cons

Repetitive, boring, non challenging work. Most of the employees have worked there for decades and their processes and ways are antiquated and their unwillingness to change and make progress is evident. Those in management have attained their title because of their length of work rather than merit or abilities.

Pros

The pay is ok, most of the people are nice. Super face paced, roller skates might help. New management in place, it doesn't seem to be helping.

Cons

Upper management is only looking at how much money they are putting in their pocket. The hours you are expected to work is insane. There is no work/life balance. Most employees work 6 - 7 days a week plus holidays. This is unrealistic. People need time off. Safety is talked about but not a priority. Forklift zooming everywhere, machines with no guarding, the list can go on and on.
