Pros

Working at Maxwell has opened so many doors for me. I have had a tremendous amount of career advancement in a short amount of time. Management and co-workers completely trust you to take on work outside of your comfort zone as long as you're willing to put in the effort and do a good job. My co-workers are super smart and dedicated and some have turned into my close friends. It's exciting to see how far we've come and what we have planned for the next few quarters.

Cons

Maxwell is a growing start-up, which means that there's so much work to be done and not enough people to do it. There's definitely a bit of a work/life balance struggle, but that comes with being a growing company.

Pros

- They don't skimp on equipment, you're supplied anything and everything you need to get your job done, which was a surprise considering most companies just hand you an old Windows desktop. - The interview process was pleasant and I never felt like I was being judged like I did at some other companies. They were always 100% transparent with me when I asked questions and honestly cared about whether I'd be happy with my role. - The kitchen is always fully stocked, lunch is catered or supplied quite often, we have daily walks, pushup competitions, weekly team gatherings, dinners, quarterly retreats, and in general everyone seems to be friends, not just coworkers. - You're never given busy-work and will likely be an important addition to the team you join regardless of your role since we're so busy. If this is a con for you then you probably won't like working here. - Last but not least, the benefits. I won't write it all down but check out the corporate site to read up. Gym memberships, travel costs, full health coverage, fitbits, etc. Definitely makes up for any salary differences you may have.

Cons

- Interviewees may notice that the process is a bit longer than most companies. If you got an interview consider yourself lucky, because you probably scored the only 45 minute period that person may have had that week. Also, if you're stuck on the couch for a while, chat up the people near you, they're likely genuinely interested in what you're there for and can probably give you some good information. - If you're used to having a cubicle and laser focus then you may have a difficult time acclimating. Computers are about a foot apart from each other here and you'll be able to overhear people talk easily. Everyone still gets their work done with headphones and breakout rooms, but it's worth mentioning. - The company is growing ridiculously fast, so you won't be "the new guy" for long (if at all) and will be thrown into your work pretty quickly. Not a huge con, but once again, worth mentioning.

Thank you for your note. Transparency and open communication is very important to us. I don't think it's possible to build a great company without it. Veer
