Forward-thinking company in a complex industry

Pros

- Product is solving real problems every day in a very complex industry with real-world consequences - Leadership is deeply invested in the success of the company and its employees - Amazing benefits, flexible hours and open vacation policy, beautiful office, and a convenient location

Cons

Any company in a space that's still maturing will go through some points of uncertainty while getting the strategy and business model ironed out. For most employees here, this is exciting and all part of working at a VC-backed startup.

Pros

The people were amazing and are very talented Casual office environment The ability to work remote Great benefits Founders want to build an amazing company and are passionate about the mission The work was fun and challenging Did I mention the people?

Cons

Trust. There was not one senior leader you could go to that would hold anything in confidence. Senior leaders did try to promote a transparent environment, but you were frowned upon if you shared feedback they didn't want to hear. On the positive side, I didn't find this to be the case with some middle management. Cancerous gossip that was not stopped seemingly due to personal relationships Favoritism from senior leaders; there is a trend with this feedback.

Culture at all time low post layoff, outlook isn't good.

Pros

There are few now, but there used to be many! The ability to work remote if you need to due to appointments is nice. "Unlimited PTO" Sounds awesome, but you can't take more than a single day during Q4 due to the nature of the business. You wont be told this up front though. The pay is good, but its not really worth it. The office looks cool (is that a pro?)

Cons

There used to be few, now there are many! There are quite a few clueless middle level managers who got there because of who they are tight with. If you give tickets to a manager to a ballgame, you WILL be promoted! CEO acts like he cares, but it is really only in front of people.. deep down, he cares about what you are doing for him.
