Pros

Great company to work for if you are willing to work hard and put in the long hours. The people are great and really buy into being a safe company.

Cons

You work long hours and you can be relocated at a moments notice. The project managers don't really help coach you into advancement unless you go the extra mile and push them to do it.

Pros

McCarthy offers excellent opportunities to those who seek them. If you work hard, take the initiative, and prove you care about the success of a project, then you can do anything at this company.

Cons

The worst part about working with a national firm is relocating. However this is what you sign up for, so you make the best of living in a town you never dreamed about and get your work done so you can move to the next one.

Pros

McCarthy is very thorough and critical of the people they hire; ensuring that personalities and leadership capabilities are compatible with the company's vision. The majority of the employees are great to work with. The new company core values and anchors are visionary and will eventually lead to great things. However, the upper management is going to "growing pains" trying to change the company culture. These "growing pains" trickle down to the field and impede leadership and communication.

Cons

Definitely a "sink or swim" attitude. The company is trying to weed out the older "good ol' boy" employees that do not fit within the new company core values. There feels like an internal battle between the old management group ("good ol' boys") and the new, younger management.
