Cons

Before I started working here, I was skeptical about all the negative reviews. I thought, “It can’t be that bad.” But after working in the company’s finance department, I’ve seen everything firsthand, and I can say with confidence: every bad thing you’ve heard is true. Yes, they pay well and benefits are great. But the way they treat employees—especially individual contributors—is awful. We are not humans for them. The biggest issue? Your work is graded based on vague “principles” that management can twist however they want. You can bring in huge payments from customers, but if you don’t do it in the so-called “McMaster-Carr way,” your performance will be downgraded. Management claims that they know what customers will think and do after receiving our emails/calls. There is no objective way to succeed here. If you try to advocate for yourself or question how things are done, they will find a way to get rid of you. I saw many good people go because of that… Management is ruthless, with a massive ego but no real leadership or people skills. Supervisors will sit with you at lunch, smile at your face, and then the next day, you’re gone. HR is a joke. They’ll pretend to sympathize with you, but at the end of the day, they exist to protect management, not employees. The sad truth is that the skills you will develop here are not valuable or transferable in the real world. This company operates in its own bubble, and what you learn here doesn’t translate to other jobs. If you’re considering working here, think carefully. The money might be tempting, but the stress, toxic culture, and instability are not worth it. I regret accepting their offer, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on even my worst enemy. I am very happy that I finally left this terrible place!!
