Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as a current employee. In 2019 we launched the career framework to help our employees have an understanding for what growth can look like at MedVet. Each person looks at growth differently, so this framework helps to consider moves from specialization to specialization as skills are gained vs development into leadership and management opportunities, or even transitioning from clinical services into support services. We encourage you to schedule time to meet with your manager and share your concerns and feedback in more detail so we can continue to help improve the employee experience.

Pros

I like what I do. Most of the doctors are nice and treat you with respect.

Cons

Management is awful. The pay is very low considering every day Medvet sucks the life out of employees. The atmosphere is like the mean girls in high school, which is why new employees won’t stay. Leading in specialty healthcare is non existent. I would not hospitalized my own pets there.

Response from Hospital Director at Cleveland West: Thank you for sharing, we are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with your experience. MedVet Cleveland West fosters and encourages a culture of teamwork, compassion, and empathy. If team members feel uncomfortable in any situation local management, our HR partner, and regional management are always available and interested in understanding these issues and working on a resolution. We take our team’s satisfaction and engagement seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are healthy and happy and are always looking for new and better ways we can improve this experience. We encourage and welcome thoughts, suggestions, and ideas from team members. In the last few years, a lot of work and effort has been put into analyzing job descriptions, role assignments, and fair pay within our geographic area and we are constantly re-evaluating these items and making adjustments where needed. Within these guidelines every employee has the opportunity to discuss career goals with managers and obtain their help working through a plan that involves both work by the employee as well as resources and support from MedVet. MedVet Cleveland West strives to lead our region in Emergency, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Nursing, Ophthalmology, and Surgery services. We are constantly evaluating ways to keep team members up to date with ongoing training, continuing education, and wet labs. We recognize that we have had a drastic increase in patients this year. We are actively recruiting for many open roles and are spending time each day reviewing applicants and interviewing to continue to build a strong team. I would love to discuss your concerns and suggestions for improvement, please feel free to reach out via email, phone call, teams message or text message.
