Pros

Meditech is a good stable company to work for, having never had a layoff and even in this market they continue to hire. The company has a great work environment, they believe in promotion from within and they provide employees amazing health and dental benefits at almost no cost to employees! Ability to telecommute after 3 years and flexibility to work part time based on family needs after only 2 years.

Cons

Pay scale starts everyone at bottom, salaries are lower than other software companies. Higher turnover than some companies because of the lower pay scale.

Pros

Meditech is a great company. From the compensation to the benefits, this company does much to please it's employees. If you work hard it's rewarded year over year. This is the first company that i've worked for that i felt i really had a career at. The reason for that is because they only hire from within. Everyone who starts at MEDITECH starts at entry level. If they're looking for a senior programmer they hire one from the pool of programmers already working at MEDITECH. There's a yearly bonus every year, yes even in this economy. I would not trade this job for the world.

Cons

Currently my commute to work sucks. However, after 3 years at MEDITECH you're free to transfer to any group that needs help, and you're also able to work from other buildings temporarily or permenantly without leaving your group.

Pros

interesting field/product - healthcare information systems. The challenges/opportunities are always changing, there is never a down day, always busy, but within reason. Great great people to work with - those that hire do a great job! After there for a while, the compensation is very competitive with other similar companies/opportunities.

Cons

slow growth, slow opportunity for promotion
