Pros

The benefits are great and there is a good work life balance if you have kids. Other than that there are not any pros

Cons

No room for growth Only promote from within No Human Resources department No lay offs in 30 years but fire all the time I was very excited to start working at Meditech the grounds were beautiful great benefits and the recruiters do a great job selling the company to you. Unfortunately things quickly went down hill. While working here you are treated like a child. In order to get supplies you have to bring your badge to the supply room which is only open a half hour a day and get supplies which is logged to show what you take and when. A few times when I needed staples I had to promise I would share with the rest of my group before they were given to me. All of the buildings are completely silent despite the open floor plan. Nobody talks to each other. The only chatting going on in the building is gossip and bad mouthing. My supervisor had her clique of friends and only talked to them. She would not even say hi to the rest of the group. They would gather around her desk all day and have special privileges’ that others didn’t. Aside from the drama that rules this place (Anyone in a high ranking role has been here 30+ years so you can imagine the drama) the jobs themselves are boring and not challenging. You are given one small role and that is what you do. Learning new things is never promoted and when all your work is completed you have to pretend to be busy all day. I had friends who literally come to work day in and out without a single task to do despite asking for work. If you travel expect to front up all of the expenses there are no corporate cards. The expense group is so slow that you might have to wait 2 months to get your money back and be unable to travel on future trips because your cards are maxed out. Overall this is an ok place to work a year right out of college just to get something on your resume but no place for a long term career. The benefits are so great I wish I could stay but going to work unhappy everyday is no way to live.

Pros

The company overall is very stable. In their 60+ years of existence, they've never had a layoff or salary cuts. The benefits are great, you hardly pay anything for top of the line health care. If you plan on staying with the company long term, then you become vested, and basically have the ability to buy stock in the company which is their version of a 401(K), which they don't offer. Also, at the end of the year you get cash bonuses that are based on how much the company makes, as well as how much you made for the year.

Cons

They only promote from within, which is a great concept, but actually ends up hurting them. Many of the supervisors and managers weren't promoted because they were good at their jobs, but because they've been with the company for so long. The starting salaries are very low for this field, but I guess job stability kind of makes up for it. The raise scale is also pretty antiquated. The worst part about the company would be the phones though, and if you work here, you know why. Also, there is a fairly high turn over rate, the company is pretty much a revolving door.

Pros

- Great salary.. not sure what others were talking about, started at 37500 and was bumped up to 41100 within a year - Great benefits - Insurance, vacation, sick time - Good management - Lenient enough that they don't sweat the small stuff and are willing to work with you

Cons

- Many applications with many people working at each means many people to talk to when resolving a single issue - Not always structured trainings
