Pros

I finished working at Medix just under the 2 year mark. I've seen a lot of what this company is, and can be, for its employees. There are a lot of reviews on glassdoor that don't accurately illustrate the good, and the not-so-good things about working here. I will try to paint a picture of what you will need in order to have a successful career here and what you can expect in return. If you don't have these 5 attributes, you may want to reconsider working here as it will save you stress in the long run. 1) Willingness to learn - Learning never stops at Medix and they will always be there to make sure you are progressing in your career. You will need to be coachable and open to being wrong and growing yourself in order to progress. 2) Grit and Drive - If you're the type of person who is willing to chase down goals no matter what it takes then you will do well here. If you maybe have never come from a metric driven environment that teaches you this and you think it can be your thing, then Medix will be a good place for you to grow and develop that drive. 3) Resilience - You cannot be deterred by setbacks - which are inevitable in any staffing/sales job. Recruitment can be especially unfortunate with setbacks as there are going to be plenty of things that go wrong. You will need to have, or cultivate, a mindset of pushing through the things you can't control and learning from the things you could have controlled. 3) Integrity and desire to serve others - Its part of their "Core values" and its part of their hiring/firing. They've let go of high performers (revenue wise) who just never understood that it's not okay to cut corners or to cause extensive and undue stress to their teammates. 4) The open mind for being there for the long term - People who see the most success at Medix are the people that are bought in and stay there for the long run. They do their best to come in everyday to grow their career, whether that be making more calls, improving and developing their team, and networking inside and outside of work with Medix leadership. If you've made it this far then here is what you can expect in return from Medix: - Compensation - after you've proven what you can do, you can expect to be rewarded financially for your efforts. If you prove yourself to be a top performer than a six figure income is doable in 2 years. - A strong group of friends - you will spend a lot of time with your coworkers and you can expect to develop a great friendship with some of them outside of work. - A career path - The development of you as a person and professional growth. There are endless opportunities to transfer into different areas of the company depending on your skills and where you want to go Why you should work for Medix and not a different staffing agency: - Medix treats employees fairly and equally - I've seen negative reviews here on how women have difficulty advancing, which is simply not true. The same amount, if not more, women have gotten promoted in the last year than men. You can expect reasonable expectations and transparent feedback on where you are at and what you need to do to advance. - Reasonable expectations - I have plenty of friends working for other agencies, sometimes these other agencies will require you to hit extremely high numbers which can lead to burnout, cutthroat tendencies, and high turnover. - Medix takes your feedback into consideration - you can anonymously suggest improvements to leadership through a weekly survey that gets sent out. - You get a work from home day once a week if you hit your numbers, no other agency to my knowledge does this.

Cons

Most of the cons of working here will be the flip side to some of the pros: 1) Compensation - if you're the type of person who does the minimum, you will stay at a wage under that of what you 'd get if you were to do the bare minimum at another job. 2) Work - it is going to be hard work, it will improve your character, but it will require sacrifice coming in the forms of longer working hours (generally around 45 - 50 hours/week - still better than some other agencies), as well as emotional work - some days are really tough and you need a high amount of resilience to push through the setbacks that come with staffing. 3) Commitment - if you're not committed to all of Medix's endeavors, you might not fare well. Being financially driven and generating high revenue is very important but that is half of what your career here will entail. It is a good idea to become friends with your coworkers/managers, go to the happy hours, participate in the philanthropy events, and spend time mentoring others. These have tangible benefits for your career there.
