Pros

-Working for Medix is completely dependent on the office you are working in. Chicago is by far the largest office-with by far the most resources. -If you do receive the investment from your office leader it is in depth, hands on, fantastic, real time involvement and feedback. -You are handed a good amount of responsibility from a young age -The sales experience will land you a better job in the future. You will be doing everything from building a territory plan, lead generating, cold calling, attending meetings, closing client deals/contracts, account management AND managing your recruitment team.

Cons

-Other reviews referring to top leadership are accurate, very much so an old boys club. -Field offices are at a disadvantage. People in the company people refer to Chicago as "The Flagship" -Very high stress work environment, in part due to the industry but in part due to the metrics put in place by leadership and the mentality behind them. When metrics are brought up it should be business black and white. However, it turns into an emotional belittling conversation. -Understand that the opportunity is what you make of it, however with the turnover and attrition the organization has at the recruitment level it directly impacts the growth in offices. -Simply put, one can work less hours, under less stress, and make more money elsewhere.

Just Keeping Up Appearances

Pros

The benefits package is sufficient and unique compared to other companies, but it doesn’t make up for the lowball salaries.

Cons

All the negatives of the staffing industry wrapped up in a “Medix Blue” bow! They’re ONLY about who you know-from the owners, to the C-suite and all the way through. Bottom line, if you’re a typical midwestern White male (or blonde female the VP takes an inappropriate liking to)-you’ve got a shot, if not-you won’t stand a chance. As for the women, people of color or non-traditional sexual orientations, those overweight, redheads and even those who just have different interests (you’re ridiculed if you don’t want to attend every happy hour or participate in fantasy sports)-prepare to be ignored in the hostile work environment and not see any of the advancement opportunities they claim. Basically the CEO and his buddies are running a frat house (complete with hazing), rather than a corporation based on “core values” as they falsely advertise. They herd fresh grads in like cattle with things like their Sierra Leone philanthropy efforts, but then don’t even say anything when Sierra Leone experiences a tragedy and treat their only employee from there (not me) unfairly. Or they do a Vegas-themed sales competition right after the shooting and don’t even mention it. Beware, their everyday actions don’t match the appearances they try so desperately hard to keep up!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our core purpose of positively impacting lives is the foundation of what we do at Medix and not meant as an advertising or recruitment ploy. In the last year, Medix has supported organizations in Sierra Leone – before, during and after the tragic mudslides that occurred this August. As a purpose-driven organization, we take any claims of abuse very seriously. However, in our 16 year history, a hazing-based complaint has never been brought against Medix, and we feel compelled to refute this claim. Your review has been shared with our leadership team.
