Great Teammates

Business Outlook

Pros

Great teammates that motivate you

Cons

While the staffing industry is experiencing a slowdown, the performance expectations placed on individual contributors have not eased—if anything, they have intensified. The bar keeps rising, even as the market shrinks. This creates a stressful and often unsustainable environment, particularly when leadership does not recognize or acknowledge the added strain these pressures create—on top of the inherent challenges of a tightening market.

Pros

-Recruiter genuinely cared and worked his butt off to make sure everything was flowing smoothly. I never felt like I had no one to turn to. (Big shout out to Tom C) -Medix checked in constantly, making sure that I had the tools that I needed to succeed. -Medix does a good job vetting the employers they place employees with. -No surprises after beginning my role. I was fully informed of everything from start to finish. -When personal issues came up, my recruiter was immediately available, talked things through, and pointed me to helpful resources. -Their backend support staff were quick to respond whenever I needed help with things like benefits or sick leave.

Cons

-The health insurance left a lot to be desired. I constantly had issues with getting prescriptions filled or having abnormal routine health visits covered. I didn't bring these concerns up with Medix, so its not fair to say that they were culpable in this, but my health insurance randomly stopped covering my monthly prescriptions and they were notoriously difficult to contact when a clinic would need to verify if they were in-network. Once again, this is not a Medix issue, just an insurance issue. It was also kinda expensive if you needed coverage for more than just yourself. -Their time management platform is a bit underdeveloped. Its not super buggy, but there are a lot of features it could benefit from. It also did not work on mobile at all. If I could make one suggestion, I would say add a feature that automatically texts supervisors when a timecard needs to be approved.

Epic consultant

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Medix is a solid organisation for getting placed on Epic projects, especially for consultants early in their careers. Recruiters are responsive, transparent about roles, and helpful with onboarding and contract extensions.

Cons

Being with Medix, consultants often step into predefined roles with limited control over project scope, as they are highly dependent on client needs.
