      Amazing people, low pay

      Pros

      I've never worked with such amazing people and teams. People hold themselves accountable for project completion, are open to hearing other ideas and getting to know their colleagues on a personal level. Work/life balance was one of the best I've experienced. I enjoyed how structured the company was and the amount of knowledge and expertise everyone had.

      Cons

      The compensation is so low. I couldn't continue working here with the small merit increases they give annually. My manager also wasn't great at helping me develop my career and how to navigate the company to move into a new role. The career opportunities are there within the company, my manager just wasn't aware of how to help their employees. Many people on my team left for other roles or different OU.

      Pros

      Most of the lower level employees at the legacy Medtronic business units are dedicated to their work and to the corporate mission.

      Cons

      From top to bottom, Medtronic currently has significant leadership issues. Managers and executives do not understand what motivates their employees. Lower level employees are afraid to speak up on operational concerns, as they’ve watched peer jobs be eliminated. The problems run so deep, it which will take many years to correct even after the board finally removes Geoff Martha as CEO.

      Just a job that pays - for a company that is going in a wrong direction under wrong leadership from ceo down to OU leaders. Sad that is a pros!

      Cons

      Unfortunately medtronic independent of the OU has many problems and in basic terms does not give a darn about you unless you are in the circle and all the advertisement about caring for you or top company to work for is a scam. Still employed here but puzzled how company deleted jobs mainly with elderly and people not in favor of management. Constant fire fighting and issues because people who make decisions are not competent in my oponion. If you are thinking of the job as a long term, save yourself and don't let the medtronic name and biggest company in the world fool you. If you want this as a step to your next career move it might work fine. Learnt it hard way unfortunately and don't want this to happen to anyone else. I am so shocked medtronic runs like this. They really try to picture that it is a great place but honestly it is not.
