Pros

I mean i guess they offer you eye care and dental but not enough to cover anything really..

Cons

I was told in my interview i would get 9.75 starting (mind you this is in Illinois in which the minimum wage is 8.75 at the time) to find out 3 months later they lied to me and have been paying me 8.75 ( which is partially my fault for not checking or looking at how much they really paid me, a young and dumb mistake.) They promised me at least 24 hours a week which is part time because that is what i applied for. After my first week I was getting 40 hours a week ( 5 days a week, this went on for a bout 3 weeks) Then we had a change in management in the GM side for overnight ( we actually had 2 but the first one didn't really matter because he ended up on the grocery side after 1 week) they gradually started cutting my hours down 5 days, 3 days, 1 day a week. I thought they were trying to get rid of me so i asked 2 of the head people in charge what was going on with my hours and if it was because of something i have/had been doing/done. They told me " Oh no you're doing fine. We have to give the 4 new people we hired hours." They took hours out of my week and one other girl's week and that's it. But they only took 1 of her days away. and 4 of mine ( technically 2 because i'm only supposed to have 3 days a week because of part time.) After all that is said and done, I am putting in my 2 weeks today and instead of 1 day a week for 8.75 an hour i will be getting 11.79 an hour 6 days a week ;D

Pros

- Pay rate respectable to current pay scales - Somewhat flexible with scheduling - Benefits - Regular / repeat customers - Co workers - 24 hours opens up more jobs etc. - Computerized schedules along with posted ones - Typically no one is right on top of you so you can do your job in peace to the best of your abilities

Cons

- Cliquish, snobby management (some) - Sometimes some leaders are unwilling to help junior employees with customers and the customer ends up suffering in the long run by waiting twice as long or sometimes not getting any answer by some of the less experienced employees - Unrealistic point system and time frame for lateness for breaks or shifts (most places will allow 5 min grace period) We are not allowed even 2! (1, 58 sec) (Life happens, unforeseen road closures, deaths, accidents, health issues etc.)

Pros

I'd list pros if I could think of one.

Cons

Horrible hours, no backing from management and you have to join the union.
