Pros

nothing good very sad to say

Cons

dangerous, dept. stuffed with racks and constant harrasement from management that does not follow protocall. If they want you gone they will do it. scheduling is a joke. have to say never worked for a company that had so many rules but only follow what mngmt. wants to do. They tell you one thing and do another. Watch your back. Not a healthy place to work. when injured you have to go to meijer specified medical center. This med. center told more than 2 employees the same thing was wrong with there injury. I think they work with meijers to keep injury expense down. Should be able to go to a good trusted medical phicailty of choice. Something sketchy about the experience I had.

Pros

The co-workers are all in the same boat. If things are good, everyone can enjoy working together. If things are bad, they understand. You are never alone in your thoughts or feelings on how the company is doing.

Cons

You can bust your butt day in and day out. Every task assigned to you can be completed in record time with quality and efficiency. But if you are 2 minutes or more late for work or coming back from break, you're no better than the people who don't do a dang thing the entire time they are there. Matter of fact, as long as they're on time, nothing will ever be done or said about the fact that they accomplish nothing during their entire shift.

Pros

half days on holiday weekends; decent cafeteria, tiny discount on merchandise, sampling of products

Cons

Meijer is a very old school company in terms of management, company culture, and innovation. Be prepared to dislike coming to work every day, walking on eggshells in fear of getting treated poorly by management, and working with older than the hills technology. If you have any prior experience at an innovative company, do not come to Meijer without expecting to be frustrated each and every day. Good people are sprinkled in here and there but the majority of the company is clearly unhappy to be at work. They may try to tell you that they intend to hire new talent and are striving to improve the culture but they do nothing to make it reality.
