Insane operations design for retail stores. Service area deliberately understaffed with the plan of pulling needed cashiers from other departments. The result is chaos on the sales floor. Salaried managers have to work ridiculous amounts of unpaid overtime to help keep the store up. Hourly paid managers just get yelled at for situations created by company policies.

Long hours on larger projects, lots of pressure and red tape in their project implementation process. IT department reorganization means that IBM and Cap Gemini are responsible for much of the routine program support and maintenance, so IT team members are on edge after the Oct. 2017 restructure, which changed the earlier 'Meijer IT family' comradery to be more dismal / depressing place to work, with less job security than any time in Meijer history.
