Pros

-Able to create your own schedule via online scheduling -accommodate school schedule if related to current job position -provided free certification if applied to job area -obtained desired time off if asked far enough in advance

Cons

-Like most nursing hospital jobs, working weekends and holidays is an expectation -Experienced a change in management that subsequently led to a mass exit of employees. Nurses who had worked at the company for 10+ years left and although that manager was later fired, the damage was already done. From then on, nurses worked short-staffed on a daily basis until I left. Although I am aware it takes time to hire and train new employees, I believe agency nurses should have been utilized, however this avenue was not utilized due to "cost".

Decent pay, bad benefits, okay place

Pros

Mass layoffs not as common as in the for-profit industries. Employees that have been here for a long time seem to be happy.

Cons

The health care coverage for this place is terrible - it costs almost $400 extra per month to have my wife on my plan ($100 "Spousal Fee" and $80 extra premium, every two weeks). They recently improved the coverage for having a baby, which is good, but people don't typically have babies every year.
