Ideal if you're looking to work in a clinical setting.

Pros

Potential room for growth within department. Perfect if you are looking to get your foot in the door at a hospital and gain clinical experience.

Cons

Monotonous, regimented, tedious work. Stressful at times. For the work required, should be paid more.

Pros

The labor and delivery nurses and nursery nurses are wonderful and they took care of their own.

Cons

Hostile work environment in the unit for anyone with more than a couple of years of experience. Proof that bullying is alive and well in nursing and older nurses continue to eat their young. Nurses in the NICU, in their 50s and 60s acted like caddy high school teenagers tattling on other nurses to the unit manager.
