Pros

In the video viewing department it was pretty good pay for an entry level job, extra 2.50 an hour on weekends, a nice friendly office setting, and flexible scheduling.

Cons

At least in the video viewing department, management changed frequently and consequenlty the managers didn't know what we (video viewers) were doing. It was very confusing. Overall, Menards feels very controlling, there was very minimal talking allowed, we had to tell our manager when we were going to the bathroom, there was cameras in our dept room so upper management could watch us while we were watching the stores, etc. There was a lot of rules and regs that seemed to trump basic reasoning.

Pros

Great Pay for part-time, fast growing company

Cons

very strict, require many weekends, must say hi to every customer even if you are already with one or you could be fired (not joking), your watched on the cameras at all times even if you are very trust worthy. Put a lot of pressure on managers to send home part time employees if sales are low, one week i was sent home after one hour of working three times out of my five day schedule (only was given an average of 13 hours in the winter)

Pros

ok pay for part time, profit sharing is a nice bonus, some nice people to work with, flexible to a degree with scheduling

Cons

horrible micro management from the general office, the store I was at was full of good people, but the go doesn't let you be a good person. horrible benefits, expensive insurance, they call profit sharing a bonus but a bonus is only a bonus if it is actually extra money, not money you rely on.
