Pros

Getting to work with some awesome kiddos. Most of the BSCs who were direct supervisors were really great as well. It's easy to be hired and get some experience while in college or directly after graduating.

Cons

When working with kids in school, if they are absent you lose those hours that you were scheduled. Progress notes are written on your own time so you could potentially make less than minimum wage if you have a lot to write, several clients, or clients that you see in the home and community several times a day (this requires a different note for each setting). They give you a chunk of money when your time spent on notes bump you below minimum wage, that way they can't get in trouble for breaking the law. They ask you to do notes while you are with your client so its paid for... but how is us sitting on a laptop helpful to our kids? They also have asked TSS and BSC to "fib" on notes to make kids look worse than they are, because managed care will stop paying for services once progress starts being made. Benefits are not very good or affordable for full time employees. And they pay some mileage but it has to be from office to client or client to client etc. and there is no reason to go to the office every day, so they give you a hard time for tracking mileage daily from the start of your day to the end. I worked in multiple counties and put on 30-40 miles daily and only could get reimbured 10-15 because my first stop was 15 miles from home, and even though I lived 1 mile from the office I had "no reason to stop there first."

Pros

The benefits package is affordable and provides excellent coverages. The pay is good and, when coupled with the easy vacation and personal day policy, is hard to beat.

Cons

Some parts of upper management are disorganized and devoid of any prior planning, which creates pressure for the subordinate employees, who are left to solve the issue.
