Flexible schedules. Supportive staff. Great training opportunities.

Cons

Poor benefits. Minimal or near absent pay increases. Major cuts in pay for non-direct work (such as paperwork and travel). Frequent turnaround in Supervisors which often left Clinicians with poor or no guidance; however, once the position was filled, the Director(s) was amazing.

Pros

Provide care to individuals who need it. Pretty simple work schedule. Relaxing environment since the sites are usually houses or a household type facility.

Cons

In my case, I only work as needed. Consumers can be a hassle depending on what they are diagnosed with. Medication administration is sometimes a hassle because of the strict requirements to correctly administer medications.
