Pros

The clientele we work with is challenging and there’s a lot to learn. Lots of opportunities for over-time. Benefits are decent, even with slower accumulation choice in exchange for monetary bonus choice. Full-time positions are union-based.

Cons

Administration tends to treat staff like children. Training videos from corporate seem to be more about protecting them against liability lawsuits rather than advancing the skills of their employees.

Pros

You were able to make your own hours and when I started management was supportive and trying to get staff resources in a limited resource environment. The families were great and I had a few consistent families I got to see you for a longer period of time.

Cons

The fee-for-service model does not work in terms of actually gaining employment and keeping bills above water. I ended up making Billable for about half my 45 hours worked which was higher than many other therapists. Since the families experience high levels of stress and are often not able to Come in for sessions, the current employees lost hourly wages. Medical record staff was awful, slow, and vindictive. The turnover rate was high. There wa virtually no supervision or training.

Pros

Many positive changes in the past few years. I love the new name.

Cons

As with all non-profits, the pay could be higher but it is standard for the industry
