. Great balance between long-term outlook provided by the 70% Merck family ownership and performance discipline provided by the 30% stock float . Exciting vision from new leadership team as a Science and Technology company spanning BioPharmaceuticals, LifeSciences and Performance Materials

Cons

. Some of the systems and processes are not as advanced as other leading Global Pharmaceutical companies (e.g., HR, Finance) . Challenging to change across different divisions in Marketing & Sales . Unclear role for some businesses (e.g. Consumer Health) within new vision

I was in the US subsidiary and really enjoyed the experience along with the people I worked along side. We had a great team in place after completing a retrenchment and significantly improved business performance by re-engineering many legacy processes and streamlining operations. Our team revealed several key areas that successfully improved the business with a great deal of autonomy to take charge.

Cons

While the US team made several great strides, it was all negated once our parent company purchased Millipore. The Millipore acquisition adversely impacted the morale for the legacy team and it showed as Millipore was given the autonomy to make any changes they desire as it related to North America.
