      Great Place to Learn, Not a good place to advance

      Pros

      - Highly smart and competent people. - High degree of responsibility, as well as freedom - You have space to define yourself

      Cons

      - Company going through a change, which is a questionable strategy in itself. - Extremely limited opportunities for advancement in the current environment - Merger with Schering hasn't still stabilized the working environement here. Confusion still exists.. policies and organizations are still being consolidated - Productivitiy is up, mainly due to fear of job loss - Salaries and compensation is being constrained.

      Too many procedures, too much documentation, lots of confusion.

      Pros

      Compensation is good. Benefits are also good. The people (most of them) are friendly, courteous and professional. The technology is fairly up-to-date and modern.

      Cons

      Layoffs! Top senior management gets ridiculous compensation (tens of millions), then pushes to lay off employees. The methods used to accomplish things are unnecessarily complex, when something more simple and straightforward would do the job more quickly and accurately.
